Ajay Devgn's De De Pyaar De to CLASH with Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's Jabariya Jodi at the box office

Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer De De Pyaar, which was scheduled to release on March 15 has now been pushed two months ahead at the box office. Yes, you read it right, the urban romantic film will now hit the screens on May 17. The makers have taken this decision because of another Ajay Devgn starrer Total Dhamaal, which is releasing on February 22. The producers felt a gap of merely 20 days between two big films of the star was not a good decision.
A source close to the film, told Mumbai Mirror, "It is not good for business to have two films featuring the same actor release within a span of 20 days. With the earlier date, there would have been an overlap in the marketing campaigns." Producer of the film Bhushan Kumar also confirmed the news to the publication and said, "DDPD is a commercial entertainer and deserves a good release date and we don't think Total Dhamaal and our film should release within 15-20 days of each other. May 17 is a good date."

Now interestingly, Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's Jabariya Jodi is releasing on the same date. Which means it will be Sidharth versus Ajay at the box office. Since both the film target to multiplex audiences, it'll be interesting to whether Jabariya Jodi will now shuffle its release date or not.

Talking about Total Dhamaal, the Ajay Devgn comic caper also stars Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Riteish Deshmukh, Johny Lever and Sanjai Mishra in key roles. It is directed by Indra Kumar.
